# Notella

Notella is an AI study tool that turns your lectures and PDFs into flashcards, quizzes, and summaries — in five minutes. Built for high-memorization-load students (medicine, nursing, law, pharmacy, pre-med, cert-prep).

## What Notella does
- Records or ingests audio (lectures, voice notes), PDFs, and web URLs
- Auto-transcribes via Groq Whisper
- Generates AI summaries, flashcards, and multiple-choice quizzes
- Synced between iOS, Android, and web; unified subscription via RevenueCat (iOS, Google Play) and Stripe (web)

## Who Notella is for
Primary audience: junior/senior or MS1/MS2 students in high-memorization majors. The classic user is a 2nd-year med student who has just been blindsided by a block exam she thought she'd studied for. Secondary: pre-med, nursing, law, pharmacy, MCAT/LSAT/NCLEX/USMLE prep.

## Who Notella is not for
- Clinical recordings, patient encounters, therapy sessions, anything HIPAA-protected — Notella is NOT HIPAA-compliant and explicitly not for clinical use
- CS / engineering students (study by writing code, not flashcards)
- Freshmen (no study skills yet, no money, low stakes)
- PhDs / research-stage grad students (live in papers, not lectures)

## Privacy
Audio: Groq Whisper (no retention). Generation: OpenRouter → OpenAI (30-day retention, no training). Embeddings: OpenAI directly. Data at rest: Supabase on AWS us-east-1. Full chain disclosed at /legal/privacy.
